CAFE TRAINING
One thing we are not is coffee snobs. We believe that coffee making should be fun and everyone in a cafe or restaurant should be able to make memorable coffee, consistently. Our clients include cafes, restaurants, guesthouses, bakeries, fish and chip shops, coffee carts and surf life saving clubs. When locals learn where the Montville Coffee espresso is being made, they search it out because they know that all of the staff will be well trained and they can count on getting a good cup of coffee. "I can’t believe the best coffee in town is at the surf lifesaving club!" is music to our ears. Call us to discuss how we can meet your specific requirements.

When I bought our coffee machine I wouldn’t have had a clue where to start. Right from the first day, Karen was there with training and support. This has been an ongoing process leading to today when we can all make high quality coffee, which is essential in today’s competitive market. In my opinion, the support and training is at least 2/3 of the equation. It is easy to buy coffee but not so easy to turn that into into a consistently profitable business. We’re very happy with the entire package and would recommend Montville Coffee to anyone considering starting up or changing brands.

COFFEE APPRECIATION
We take that same fun approach to our two hour coffee appreciation courses. How about if I let Kimberleigh tell you her experience...

If you are a secret coffee snob and want to really know all about good coffee for real do go try Karen's coffee course - I've been telling all my friends that I am going off to do a Bar(r) ista's course with Montville Coffee - not only did I spell it wrong but some of them didn't know what a Barista was - guess they're not coffee snobs or up and coming lawyers either, I learnt about coffee grinders, coffee machines (not as easy to operate well as you might think) - why at some coffee shops my coffee comes WITHOUT crema - I want crema, why my coffee is sometimes cold even though it is straight from a machine and should be hot, why my long black is sometimes sour, why my long black is sometimes bitter and why even though I tried to make cappuccino I ended up making a very good latte - guess I'll have to try try again - hey all you baristas out there now I know what you did wrong when my coffee doesn't come just as I want it - thanks Karen we had a ball”.

I found the whole experience enjoyable. I think it was partly being the student again instead of the teacher. It left me free to appreciate the passion Karen has for what she does and the lengths she goes to to impart her knowledge to others using a patient and well considered approach. Karen's explanations of processes were easily understood and therefore readily applied to the production of great coffee. I have developed a much greater appreciation of "good" coffee as a result of doing this course and the other day when presented with "burnt" coffee, I knew what the problem with it was.
