Barista Scholarships

When you choose Montville Coffee's Fairtrade Organic coffee, you are making a difference to local youth. For several years, Montville Coffee has provided up to six scholarships to local high school students each year.

In 2011 we couldn't help ourselves and took all 8 applicants for the barista scholarships!  These trainee baristas commit to eight hours of training in March and April and then ten hours of closely supervised espresso making experience at our coffee stall at the Barung Landcare Wood Expo. All the profits from the coffee stall are donated to Landcare to provide environmental education in our local area. The youth gain valuable training and experience and find that they are immediately employable.
