Premium quality coffee is only half the story at Montville Coffee. The rest is about our commitment to social action and community service.

Did you know that one of the only commodities that is traded more than coffee is oil?¹ In the search for higher profits, the price offered to farmers is less and less, leading to the situation where the current world price for coffee is lower than the cost of production. As a result, the world’s 25 million coffee producers are some of the poorest people on the planet.² When you buy our fair trade organic coffee, you know that the farmers are making much more than the current world price. They are also farming sustainably without the use of chemicals which is good for the environment and good for us as consumers. For more information on what farmers do to help their communities when they are paid properly, click on the story links below.

At Montville Coffee, we also use our profits to help individuals and communities closer to home. This includes barista scholarships for local youths and donations to environmental education programs. Again, click on the story links below for more details on these stories.
